The Festival "Together Brighter" Takes Place in Kazakhstan

The eco-festival “Together Brighter” with the support of the Ministry for Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the United Nations Development Program in Kazakhstan, the Foundation for the Development of Socially Important Initiatives and other partners, takes place in 11 cities of Kazakhstan during 2018 with the involvement of more than 10,000 children, parents and teachers from 11 regions of Kazakhstan.

The main idea of the Festival is to actively promote the Sustainable Development Goals among the public (children, parents, youth, administrative structures, civil society) with practical implementation of the goals in the regions through the integrated interaction between all stakeholders.

As part of the festival, participants take part in quests on energy efficiency which are aimed at raising awareness about energy efficiency of household appliances. During the quests the participants study the difference between devices of different energy efficiency classes, as well as peculiarities of the devices used in different purpose rooms for (kitchen, bathroom).

An educational module on energy efficiency has been developed. The module includes test papers in mathematics, algebra, and geometry that help uncover the essence of energy efficiency. The plans are to create a video that teaches skills in energy efficiency at home.

The module will be distributed through the national television channel "Knowledge" which is under the auspices of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
